The Preview Events

The Preview, organized in collaboration with the Dicembre Letterario Festival, promoted by the Jane Austen Club Sardegna, opened on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Giardino di Lu in Pimentel.
The event, organized by the Jane Austen Club Sardegna with Tesori a Fumetti as a partner, featured a special guest: graphic journalist Takoua Ben Mohamed, who presented her book Don’t Poke the Muslim Woman (Becco Giallo Edizioni).

An intense and ironic work in which the author recounts—with intelligence and sarcasm—her experience as a Muslim woman, artist and activist living in Italy. The conversation was moderated by Giuseppe Floris.

Second Preview Event – May 17, 2025

The second Preview event, scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, will take place in the evocative setting of the Domus de Janas of S’Acqua Salida, in Pranu Efis, Pimentel.
A magical, historically rich location, perfect for celebrating the meeting of visual storytelling through comics and a passion for books.

The protagonists of the Preview will be two leading figures in the comics world: Bepi Vigna and Manuelle Mureddu.
Through their works and experience, they will guide participants on a journey through stories and illustrations, exploring the boundaries between art and narrative.

The evening will open with Bepi Vigna, who will present My Comics Treasure: Major Fatal (Il maggiore fatale) by Moebius (1979), followed by the presentation of his book The Ballad of Hugo (La ballata di Hugo, by Bepi Vigna and Mauro De Luca, Lo Scarabeo, 2021), coordinated by Giuditta Sireus.

Next, Manuelle Mureddu will introduce her comics treasureWill Eisner’s A Contract with God (1978), and present the book Cada contu 2000–2020: Twenty Years of Comics in Sardinia (edited by Manuelle Mureddu and Cristina Cardia, Kleiner Flug, 2024), coordinated by Giuseppe Floris.

A unique opportunity to experience books and comics not only as reading material, but as a shared cultural experience, set within the magical atmosphere of the Domus de Janas of S’Acqua Salida.

The event is part of a broader cultural journey that highlights comics as an art form and narrative language, confirming Pimentel as a key reference point for enthusiasts and professionals in the field.
